Preventing Lower Back Pain

In addition to doing stretches for lower back pain, there are other things you can do to lessen the pain and even prevent or alleviate it.  Good posture is very important, especially since so many people today spend so much time sitting at a computer desk.  Sit up straight in your chair with a relaxed posture; do not slouch!  When stooping to pick up a heavy item, lift with your legs, not your back.  This is a common reason for back problems.  This extra strain on your spine can cause serious damage so be sure to always lift with your legs!
