Pelvic Prolapse

Pelvic prolapse happens when the pelvic floor muscles weaken and collapse. Typically, this is a result of child birth, and can be worse with obesity. In order to prevent pelvic prolapse, learn to do Kegel exercises, which strengthen pelvic floor muscles and help reduce the risk of uterine prolapse. Plenty of regular exercise is beneficial as well, because when you’re at an appropriate weight, you’ll be healthier in general. While this condition is typically more common for women of menopausal age, it can happen much earlier. If you suspect pelvic prolapse, contact your doctor for an exam right away, and discuss treatment options with him or her.
